Overview

The data in this NJSHAD query module come from the New Jersey Birth and Death Certificate databases. The databases are maintained by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, Bureau of Vital Statistics and Registration. Death certificates are matched to the infant's birth certificate and the matched database is maintained by the Center for Health Statistics, New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. Year, infant age, cause of death, and geographic area of residence are from the death certificate. All other variables are from the matched birth certificate for the infant.

Getting Started

Follow the steps to narrow your query and display your results. When you are done forming your query, click "Submit" at the bottom of the screen to get your query result.

Step 1: Select year of death (2007)

Step 2: Select mother's age (Predefined age groups: All ages)

Choose a coding scheme to use for age groups. Default is pre-defined age groups, all ages. Mother's age is at time of birth.

Cause of Death
There are a variety of predefined causes of death to choose from. If causes on the predefined lists do not meet your needs, you may enter your own ICD-10 codes by selecting "User-defined causes."

First choose a coding scheme to use for causes of death. Default is all causes.
